Yakima Takes Over First as Standings Shift Following Weekend Action
Another week, another shake-up in the standings, as the league has a new leader atop the table. Yakima United now sits in first place, with Bellingham United FC (BUFC) and WE Surf SC (Surf) in second and third place, respectively, following three impactful matches this weekend.
FC Olympia at Rat City FC
FC Olympia exploded offensively in a dominant first-half performance during their road match in West Seattle. The scoring began with Muhammad Diallo finding the back of the net to give Olympia the early advantage. Tristin Evans followed with two quick goals of his own—first set up by Adrian Erdahl, then assisted by Alex Vogt—as Olympia continued to apply relentless pressure. Vogt then got in on the scoring himself with a well-placed finish before setting up Edwin Quintana for another tally that extended the lead even further. Although an own goal gave Rat City FC their lone mark of the half, it did little to slow down Olympia’s momentum. Gavin McLeroy closed out the scoring before halftime, converting on an assist from Emmet McDougal to give FC Olympia a commanding 7-1 lead, which they held the rest of the match.

WE Surf SC at Bellingham United
Bellingham United earned a crucial home victory, propelled by a strong second-half showing that reshaped the league standings. Edgar Serrano opened the scoring in the 38th minute, finishing off a setup from Richard Henderson to put Bellingham ahead. Just seconds into the second half, Yale Morrow doubled the lead with a quick strike, sealing a 2-0 win in front of their home fans. The result vaults Bellingham into second place in the table, leapfrogging a Surf side that had been near the top entering the match.
Yakima United at Vancouver Victory
Yakima United earned a pivotal and hard-fought victory that could prove critical in the title race. The team showed resilience and attacking depth, with Johnny Ramirez, Missael Lopez, and Noe Garfias each finding the back of the net to power the comeback. Vancouver Victory opened the scoring through Lucas Gomes and briefly regained the lead with a goal from Wilson Fresh, but Yakima refused to back down. With relentless energy and a clinical edge in front of goal, Yakima pulled ahead and held on for a 3-2 win. The result not only secured three valuable points but also launched Yakima United into first place in the standings, overtaking their rivals on tiebreakers as the playoff picture continues to take shape.
